Camp Out

Johnny and Rodge had a fun weekend at the trails. Built the berm in the new trail a good bit bigger the morning after a campout.  Weather was perfect for sleeping outside so we made a small fire and grilled chicken and hamburgers with potatoes and vegetables for dinner. For breakfast we cooked scrambled eggs and bacon.  Johnny tried to make french toast but it kept sticking to the pan, so he gave up.

Other good news has also arrived that the owner of the land is not planning to build the housing development directly over the trails.  After a chat with him and some other people with him it sounds like we should be safe for at least four years.  Then we will see how close the development is located to the trails and how the scene looks. So for now the stress is off a little to find a new spot to build.  We just need to keep the place clean and organized while keeping the kids who don’t know how to ride the jumps off of our trails so noone gets hurt.  Luckily the owner is a nice enough guy. Johnny did a few runs through Overkill to show him whats up and everyone was stunned.

This is the berm we worked on. It’s getting bigger.

After dinner we took pics of the fire.

This toad was one ugly looking thing but he deserved a photo as much as anyone else.

Aurora’s Birthday

Johnny’s pup Aurora turned two years old August 16th. She had a few doggy friends over along with some human friends to make for a pretty amazing birthday barbeque style. Dogs and humans alike were all siked on the party.

Johnny only managed to get the birthday girl to sit still with her friends for a picture a few times, it wasn’t easy with all the excitement. Below Aurora and her friend Diva wait for a hamburger.

And this is Cali waiting with Aurora for a hotdog.

Lazy Summer Days

Lazy Summer days are upon us.  All the jumps are finally dialed, every line running smooth and tarped!  So now we should be riding.  But no. We have been doing a lot of chillin out in the woods and less riding.  Not because we have wanted to though.  Joel  hurt his knee crashing into a tree after Gunsmoke, Ian went to Woodward last week, Zak has been at Woodward all Summer, leaving Johnny to ride solo. Hopefully Joel’s knee will heal quickly and Ian will get up here to get blastin again before Johnny dies of boredom. Until then expect chill pictures like these below.

Dry Dirt

The trails are getting real dry this season especially at the top section of the trails.  And unfortunately there are a few young kids who think it is a great time to rip the tarps off of the jumps while only taking half the pins out and throwing tarps, pins and saucers all over. Then ride the top berms and rollers bone dry. I don’t understand how they don’t understand that’s just wrong. How do they ride BMX and think its cool to destroy someone elses BMX spot. You have to take care of what you do.  That means be gentle with the tarps that are protecting the jumps from the elements/ Allways water the jumps before you ride/ And allways dial the jumps so they are smooth and wet before you tarp up/ And most importantly know who you are fucking with. I would expect this behavior from mountain bikers or some other sport. You young BMXers should build your own jumps and learn to respect the old men of BMX if you ever want respect from us. Please respect what other people of BMX have done, that goes for all other trails anyhere not just these trails! Everyone KEEP OUT of other peoples trails!

Below Johnny rocks Gunsmoke, the sharpest hip at the trails.

The woods is amazing because it grows cool looking things like this.

Summer Fun

Adam Spitalny was up in the woods this past weekend, he came prepared with solid riding and his Nikon.  Johnny captured these photos while Adam was breaking in the new trail.

Johnny had himself a fine day roasting through Overkill with a manuever over the long and low that I have never seen pulled like this before.

You know Johnny likes a jump when he is having fun like this!

Trial Construction

Johnny just bought a black Deluxe Tech 2 from our best buddy Vic over at CIRCUIT BMX, the best bike shop ever. This thing is dialed!

Trail conditions are very dry right now so we are carrying alot of water around to dial the place in. Even being dry Johnny managed to start the base of this berm in the newest trail.

Johnny and Joel have been apeing it heavy on this Gunsmoke landing. This is the sharpest hip at the trails and just needed a facelift so we gave it a good one.

Joel early in the process adding some to the back.

The final product fully supified.
